These photographs were taken along the shores of various bodies of water, using colorful pieces of sea glass in lieu of a lens. I sought out a variety of collectors who had gathered the pieces of glass as they had washed up onto different beaches. After receiving a piece of glass I would return to the shore of the body of water they had been weathered in and make a picture. Over a period of years the turbulent seas soften the edges and surfaces of the once transparent pieces of glass. By using the sea glass in lieu of a camera lens I am able to mirror that softening effect on the visual representation of the seascape.
